Geoffrey Munn is a historian, author and television presenter.  He began working with jewellery when he was just 19 but immediately realised it was not merely ornamental but a microcosm of every aspect of art and design; even a high art form in its own right. The majority of the pieces Geoffrey has collected have deeply personal associations and include memorial jewels for Lord Nelson, George Frideric Handel and a bracelet worn by Edith Sitwell as Lady Macbeth.

Join him for an illustrated look at his collection of 31 pieces, which includes no less than 10 jewels intimately associated with Queen Victoria, many of which will be featured in a new display at the V&A opening soon. They include an openwork gold brooch designed by Prince Albert for the Queen in 1843 to mark their 3rd wedding anniversary. Another was made to Victoria’s order in memory of her beloved personal attendant John Brown.

This talk will be livestreamed via Zoom and all ticketholders will receive a link to view the morning of the talk. It will also be recorded if you are not able to join live.
