Visiting exhibitions

Can Members visit sold out exhibitions?

Yes. As a Member, you get free unlimited visits to all exhibitions even when tickets have sold out.

Do Members need to book tickets to visit special exhibitions?

No. Members do not need to book tickets to visit our exhibitions. Your Membership card is your ticket.

V&A South Kensington and Young V&A are open seven days a week. Last admission to exhibitions is 16.15 at Young V&A and 17.00 (21.00 on Fridays) at V&A South Kensington.

Membership cards

Can I visit without my Membership card?

You need a valid physical or digital Membership card to enter exhibitions. If you forget to bring it, you can pick up a temporary card from the Membership desk or Members' Room at South Kensington when you arrive, or the admissions desk at Young V&A.

Will I get a physical and digital Membership card?

Yes, currently all Members will get both.

Your digital Membership card will give you access to the same benefits as your physical card. This includes free access to exhibitions, entry to the Members' Room and discounts in the V&A shops and cafes.

The details on my cards are not correct. How can I get this updated?

Please email membership@vam.ac.uk and the Membership team will check your details and arrange to update your card if required.

Digital Membership cards

How do I download my digital card?

If you provided the V&A with your email address when purchasing your Membership, you will receive an email from Cuseum – our digital card provider. This includes instructions and a link to download your digital card. You must open this email using the device which you would like to download your digital card to.

You can only download your card to one device.

1. Open the email containing your digital card from your iPhone

2. Tap 'Download your Membership Card'. This will open a new webpage with a preview of your card

I'm a Member without a digital card. Will I get one?

If you renew your Membership, you will get a link to download a digital Membership card. Once you renew your Membership, you will get an email from Cuseum, our digital card provider, with instructions on how to download your digital Membership card.

Do I need a new digital card when I renew my Membership?

No. If you have already downloaded a digital Membership card, your expiry date should automatically update on the card in your wallet when you renew your Membership.

I'm having issues downloading my digital card. What do I do?

I didn't get an email with my digital card

Check your spam folder in case the email has been sent there in error. The email will come from Cuseum, our digital card provider, not the V&A. If you still can't find it, email the Membership team at membership@vam.ac.uk to arrange for another email to be sent to you.

I can't find my card on my phone

If you have an iPhone, the card will automatically download to your Apple Wallet. Check the Apple Wallet app for your new card (scroll through any cards that are already there). If you have an Android, you'll need to check your Google Wallet app or Wallet Union app depending on which wallet app you use.

Gift Membership and extra card holders

I have bought a Gift Membership. Will a card be sent to the recipient?

Physical Membership cards are posted within ten working days to the address specified in your order.

If you have provided us with an email address for the recipient, they will get an email from Cuseum (our digital card provider) two weeks after your purchase. If you opted to have the Membership pack sent to you, this email will be sent to the gift recipient 30 days after you purchased the Membership so we don't spoil the surprise.

I have a Membership with an extra cardholder. Will they get a digital card?

Yes. If we have an email address linked to the extra cardholder's account, they will also receive an email with a link to download their own digital Membership card.
