Our work in schools

Your Collection: V&A East in Schools is a V&A East community engagement programme initiated by our director, Gus Casely-Hayford. We have already taken objects reflecting the diverse heritages of east London into more than 50 local schools and universities across east London, giving young people access to the museum like never before.

We offer Teachers’ CPD sessions for local teachers to meet the Learning team hear about opportunities and host a twice-yearly Teachers Retreat for teachers to join us and create.

Find out more about the programme and how your school can get involved on our blog.

Community collaboration projects

We've been working with local east London communities to help shape how the objects in the museum are displayed, and what stories we tell about them. Through creative workshops and oral history programmes, you can have your voice heard and respond creatively to objects and exhibitions in the museum. We always feature opportunities to collaborate on our blog, V&A East Instagram, and our email newsletters.
