As the founder and artistic director of creative agency Style House Files, Omoyemi Akerele has been instrumental in the acceleration of the African creative economy, especially through her creation of Lagos Fashion Week more than a decade ago, which has grown into a multi-day platform that presents African designers in Nigeria and beyond.
Lagos Fashion Week has also expanded its scope of work, providing advocacy for the industry with government and investors, offering industry master-classes and incubation support for emerging talent and supporting all parts of the fashion industry value-chain to achieve their full potential.
Join her in conversation with Tokunbo Akerele (Chairman, Lagos Fashion Week) for an inspiring look at the highlights and challenges of developing a new Fashion Week from its initial start to its position now as Africa’s largest fashion event.
Following their discussion, they will be joined on stage by designers Abigail Ajobi, Hazel Aggrey Orleans and Sophie Zinga for a panel Q&A.
This talk will be streamed on Zoom and all ticket holders will receive a link to view on the morning of the talk.
