Lunchtime Lecture: Collecting Contemporary Metalwork at the V&A photo
Contemporary metalworking is a dynamic field and today’s metalsmiths continue a long tradition of experimentation in a range of metals to create exciting and innovative work. This lecture will discuss a new display of contemporary metalwork and will introduce some objects that have recently been acquired by the museum including an object recently commissioned by the V&A and the P&O Makower Charitable Trust.

Becky Knott is Curator of Metalwork, 1900-Now at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. She was previously Lead Curator of V&A East Storehouse, a new research and collections centre in Hackney Wick which will open to the public in 2025. Becky has also worked at the British Museum and the Bowes Museum.
