Join artist and museum staff Ellie Bird for a creative workshop for children with sensory differences or SEND and their families.
The workshop theme is nature, and we will take inspiration from the museum's collection, looking at artists and designers who have created work using by organic forms and shapes.
The workshop is relaxed and designed with you and your child(ren) in mind. There will be a range of creative activities and children are free to explore in their own time and at their own pace. These will include printing using natural ingredients and paint, drawing with organic forms, and shadow play.
You can arrive anytime during the 90-minute workshop, and it’s fine to take a break in our dedicated break out space or elsewhere in the museum and re-enter the workshop.
Please note that this event is designed especially for children with sensory difference and SEND, and their families. Please help us to safeguard the space for those who need them.
- Our visual story shows you pictures of the museum and how to access our spaces. Please check our Access page for further information.
- This is a family event, where all members of a family are encouraged to take part. Please book tickets for everyone in your group. Children must be accompanied by an adult during the workshop.
- The event will take place in the Portal Trust Community Room on the Lower Ground Floor. Visitors will be welcome to move around, make noise and leave or re-enter the session throughout.
- On the day, our friendly team will be available to help with your access needs. Please feel free to approach us to make your visit more comfortable.
