London Design Festival 2018
Curated by Dr Christopher Turner, V&A Keeper of Design, Architecture and Digital, this afternoon of discussion and debate will consider practical ideas for addressing the crisis of availability and affordability of housing in London.
Ten speakers from the fields of design and policy-making will each propose an idea for the future of social housing, highlighting the role the state must play in addressing this issue. While much of the public discourse has focused on the number of homes needed, this session will foreground the crucial role design will play in defining new ways of living, working and raising families in the city today.
Speakers:
Liza Fior: Director, muf architecture / art
Deborah Garvie: Policy Manager, Shelter
Chloë Phelps: Head of Design, Brick By Brick
Richard Rogers: Founding Partner, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners
Finn Williams: Founder, Public Practice
