Creative Practice and Careers Study Day (14 – 18 yrs)
This session will use cardboard moulding techniques and air-dry clay to give participants a chance to try out the world of ceramics. Participants will be asked to create their own response to a live brief, using museum collections and V&A ceramics resident, Florence Dwyer’s own practice as a creative jumping off point.
Florence is a ceramics artist whose practice is informed by research into social and cultural histories related to industrial manufacturing, domestic craft, and vernacular design. Drawing on ideas surrounding gendered work, capitalism, and the transculturation of craft and objects, her research often involves working alongside professional makers.
