Japan: Myths to Manga
Supported by Toshiba
Join us for another chance to access four drop-in workshops with creative professionals:
• Learn manga drawing skills with published Japanese manga artists Chie Kutsuwada and Takayo Akiyama and take part in a collaborative manga mural
• Design a yōkai with set and prop designer Emily Harwood
• Learn how to add your own sound to anime film clips with School of Noise
• Meet Origami artist Toshiko Kurata of Origami Happy Wonderland and learn anime-inspired folds
This event, taking over Young V&A’s learning centre, will give 11-14 year olds the opportunity to try out a range of new skills linked to anime inspired by the Japan: Myths to Manga exhibition.
Important information:
This event is designed for young people aged 11-14.
Each participant must be accompanied to the museum by an adult, but during the workshop, adults are welcome to explore the rest of the museum. If you would prefer to stay at the event for additional support, this can be facilitated with the team onsite.
Tickets are £20 per young person and every young person attending must have a ticket.
The event ticket covers access to four workshops, which will run multiple times over the event duration.
Young people attending will be allocated to a group when they register, and will experience all workshops in a set order as part of their group. Full details of the schedule will be provided on registration.
Please do let the V&A know if you have specific access requirements.
If the V&A needs to cancel the event due to an emergency, or for any reason beyond the control of the V&A, we will reschedule your booking for a later date or offer a refund.
