Learn how to create a wire armature for animation, add features and build a traditional Japanese Umbrella structure with model-maker Aco Burnett. Using wire, air-dry clay and Japanese origami paper you will make your own, unique stop-motion puppet based on the famous Umbrella Yokai.
Aco Burnett is a Japanese model-maker living in Bristol. After many years working as a CG artist in the animation industry she began making hand-made puppets and dolls in 2020. Her latest work is inspired by traditional Japanese folk tales and are three-dimensional versions of monsters and Yokai depicted in ancient Ukiyo-e woodcut prints.
This workshop is part of the Make-Lab series which offers opportunities for adults and children to work with professional artists, learning new creative skills together.
There are two workshop times to choose from: 10.30-12.30 and 14.00-16.00. Please arrive 10 minutes before your start time.
