In this talk, Dr Alison Bancroft will uncover the links between avant garde thinking in art, and the fashion from Christian Dior, starting with the work of Mr Dior himself, through to the more recent collections from the current Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri. Part fashion history, part theory, part critical interpretation, this talk by one of the world’s leading fashion theorists will present a new way of thinking about the importance of fashion that will take the audience way beyond the fashion industry.
