Past Event
Join artist Leo Crane to explore the moving image using simple materials and a smartphone app. Drawing, capturing, erasing and re-drawing, you will make a series of charcoal images to produce your own mini movie. Starting with an introduction to frame-by-frame animation, you will be guided through process and techniques. You will then develop your own animation ideas, with creative and technical support throughout the day.
By the end of the course, you will have learnt the fundamentals of drawing in charcoal, as well as animation techniques that you can continue at home. You will have explored short-form storytelling and leave with a micro-animation ready to share online, should you wish.
Suitable for all levels and limited to 16 attendees. Attendees must be 18+.
All materials and equipment provided.
