Japan: Myths to Manga

This event, taking over Young V&A’s learning centre, will give 11-14 year olds the opportunity to try out a range of new skills linked to Anime inspired by the Japan: Myths to Manga exhibition. Accompanying adults must attend on a booked free ticket.
The event includes access to four drop-in workshops with creative professionals:
• Learn manga drawing skills with published Japanese manga artist Chie Kutsuwada.
• Design and make a Yokai mask with set and prop designer Emily Harwood.
• Learn the filmmaking process of Foley, and how to add sound to clips from the pioneers of early anime using everday objects and editing technologies.
• Meet Origami artist Toshiko Kurata of Origami Happy Wonderland and learn anime inspired folds inspired by our favourite anime artists.
This event is targeting children aged 11-14.
Children must be accompanied to the event by an adult. Once inside the event, children can attend the mini-workshops without their adult, but the adult should remain in the event space.
Tickets are £20 per child. The accompanying adult must book a free ticket. One adult can supervise up to 8 children.
The event ticket covers access to an option of 4 workshops.

If the V&A needs to cancel the event due to an emergency, or for any reason beyond the control of the V&A, we will reschedule your booking for a later date or offer a refund.
