Illustrating Cartier with Joanna Layla

Explore the iconic world of Cartier’s design with fashion illustrator and artist Joanna Layla. From jewel to setting, pattern to innovation, you will discover Cartier’s signature style and pieces - and the role of fashion illustration in illustrating jewellery. Illustrate with Joanna Layla as she guides you through a series of exercises to develop striking Cartier inspired imagery. You will experiment with different techniques to capture jewels, inspired by the Cartier objects in V&A, using her signature ink, watercolour and collage techniques. You will have the chance to apply these techniques to develop your own striking Cartier inspired fashion illustration.

Bring your brushes, watercolours and inks, paper and water and get ready for an inspiring exploration of Cartier’s designs through illustration.

This session will be held live on Microsoft Teams and will also be recorded. The recording will be emailed to ticket holders after the live event, and will be accessible for 5 days until midnight on Sunday 13 July 2025.
