Wild women: Joan Wakelin and Greenham Common photo
Joan Wakelin’s substantial archive is part of the Royal Photographic Society collection and archive held at the V&A. Her photographs, colour slides and personal papers relating to Greenham Common give us a unique perspective of everyday life at the peace camp, from someone who was neither a protestor nor a male press photographer.
In this workshop, you will explore Wakelin’s archive and her important friendship with peace protestor Hiroko Sumpter.
This event is facilitated by Emily Beswick, a photography historian who catalogued Wakelin’s archive for the V&A.
