The V&A+RIBA Architecture Gallery opened in 2004. Almost two decades on, activists, architects, historians, and writers have been invited by the museum to offer fresh interpretations of individual objects and reflect on the scope of the gallery itself. The intervention highlights some of the important narratives underrepresented in the current gallery, such as climate change, inclusion, and provenance.
In this panel, we hear from some of the project participants about the process of redressing these absences and reflect more broadly on how best to represent contemporary concerns through historical and contemporary architectural collections.

Chaired by assistant curator Alice Power, the panellists include architectural historian Elizabeth Darling, cultural heritage preservation lead Laura Searson, writer Hiba Alobaydi, multi-disciplinary architect Sarah Akigbogun and writer Alim Kheraj.
