Tapestry is one of the oldest forms of woven textile, used to create everything from tunics and purses to table covers and chair backs, as well as some of the world's largest and most beautiful pieces of textile art. In this textile workshop, renowned textile artist Caron Penney will guide you through the process of creating your own small woven tapestry, starting with how to warp a wooden tapestry frame. You’ll explore exciting and varied weaving techniques including creating diagonals, shapes, hatching and blending to create your design. Caron will also demonstrate how to complete your work and remove it from the frame loom.
All materials provided, this weaving workshop is suitable for complete beginners, as well as those looking to refresh their knowledge. Open to participants aged 18 and above.
