This talk will highlight the winning artworks of the V&A Illustration Awards 2024, including the artists’ inspirations and artistic process.
The V&A Illustration Awards is a free, biennial competition celebrating excellence in illustration and contemporary practice, and judged by a panel of prominent illustrators and industry experts.
Last year, a record of over 2000 entries were submitted. Our 2024 winners drew on a wide range of inspirations from across the globe. This talk will explore the winners and runners-up for the five revised categories: Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction, Advertising and Commercial, Illustration for Children, and Emerging Illustrator.
Annemarie Bilclough is currently the Frederick Warne Curator of Illustration at the V&A. She has more than 20 years' curatorial experience working with prints, illustration and book arts. Recent projects included the Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature and Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser exhibitions.
