V&A East Storehouse is a vast new public space which now houses the V&A's extensive collections of over 250,000 objects, 350,000 library books, and 1,000 archives. It offers visitors a chance to experience a working museum firsthand, allowing guests to explore the process of collecting and preserving items, and to uncover the rich stories they tell about culture and society.
At the heart of the space is the Weston Collections Hall, which spans three levels and features over 100 mini curated displays literally ‘hacked’ into the sides and ends of storage racking for you to explore. Highlights include insights into east London’s heritage of artistry, activism, and resistance to groundbreaking scientific research, from preserving fragile plastics to safeguarding cultural heritage.
