Upstart: Creative Careers Festival 2023
Join V&A Upstart Festival at V&A Wedgwood Collection online to explore creative careers using art to support wellbeing. This year the theme for Upstart is 'Wellbeing' and the opportunities available for creativity to be used to support wellbeing in ourselves and others.
Event speakers:
We will hear from a panel of professionals working in the fields of arts, creativity and education.
Alice Thatcher and Joanna Hejmej: Ceramic artists Alice and Joanna will share their experiences of working with The British Ceramics Biennial to deliver the 'Moulding Memories' project, supporting Stoke-on-Trent residents with Dementia.
Jacqui Wood: Chief Executive of ARC (Arts for Recovery in the Community) will tell us about the work of one of the UKs leading art and mental health charities.
Kirsty Cotton: will share the work of Kreative Foundations, an alternative education and community development company fostering wellbeing for learners of all ages and abilities through inclusive and creative approaches.
Keziah Smith: lecturer in Arts for Health at The University of Derby who will tell us about higher education in Creative Wellbeing.
There will be an opportunity for a Q&A with the panel at the end.

- This is a free online event taking place on Saturday 11th November, 2-3:30pm.
- Participants will receive an online link via email two days beforehand.
- The event will be recorded, if you are unable to attend please book a ticket, and the recording will be shared with the group.
