Little Richard: I Am Everything is an insightful and chilling examination of the life lived, the jubilant music made and personal torment endured by the self-ordained ‘architect of rock & roll’. Cortés’ evocative examination of Richard’s global cultural impact illustrates how he used music to realise his rural teenage ambitions and the dispassionate way in which his race, sexual orientation and performance-based flamboyance were used to corporately celebrate, suffocate and socially condemn him.
