Dinner and a Movie: The Lunchbox photo
Experience an unforgettable night of film, conversation, and dining with a special screening of The Lunchbox (2013).  A delicate and moving tale set in the heart of Mumbai, the film follows an unexpected connection between a widower and a housewife, sparked by a rare mistake in the city’s famously efficient lunchbox delivery system. Through handwritten notes tucked inside home-cooked meals, their correspondence unfolds into an intimate, unspoken bond that offers them both a fleeting escape from their everyday lives. Starring the incomparable Irrfan Khan, alongside Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, The Lunchbox is a masterfully told story of love, loss, and the human need for connection.

After the film, join broadcaster and film critic Ashanti Omkar for an engaging Q&A exploring The Lunchbox in the broader evolution of Indian cinema. From the golden age of parallel cinema to today’s bold new narratives, we’ll discuss the shifting landscape of Indian storytelling and its impact on audiences worldwide.

The evening will continue with a three course Mughal-inspired dinner and cocktail  in the Members room. To see the menu for the evening please click on 'Download Menu' on the right hand side. All ticketholders will be emailed closer to the time to pre-order their meal.

This film will be screened in Hindi with English subtitles.
