What does it mean to make a dress? Join the V&A Academy as we unpack this impossible question. Hear from Jennifer Wearden, once Senior Curator of textiles at the V&A and now a leading historian of textiles and dress; Rowena Luke-King, a pattern-maker and sewing teacher; and Rose Sinclair a design lecturer specialising in textile and craft practices of Black women. Three short talks will be followed by a live Q&A. V&A Members get priority booking on V&A Academy courses and workshops, and this session will demonstrate the incredible breadth and depth of learning on offer.
This talk will be held on Zoom, and ticket holders will receive a link to view live on the morning of the event. The talk will also be recorded, and available to view for ticketholders after the event.
