Kicking off our concert programme, pianist Ivan Moshchuk, will perform Moments Musicaux D.780 and Piano Sonata in A Major D.959 by Franz Schubert in gallery 87.
Ivan Moshchuk grew up in Michigan, where he began music studies at the age of five and made his concerto debut shortly thereafter. Following his reception of a Gilmore Young Artist Award in 2010, his career as a concert pianist has taken him to major cities across Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Ivan holds performance diplomas from the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, completing studies in the class of Leon Fleisher, and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, training under Benedetto Lupo, in addition to being an alumni of the Verbier Festival Academy in Switzerland and the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. He is currently completing a PhD at the Royal Academy of Music where his focus is on the relationship between music and image. Ivan Moshchuk will be performing on a Christoph Kern fortepiano (based on a 19th century Graf instrument) on loan to the Royal Academy of Music by the Calleva Foundation.
