Imperial Chinese robes of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) were designed and produced under strict court regulations: from dress design, fabric colours, decorative motifs to the choice of materials. Sau Fong Chan, Curator, will be joined by Lilia Prier Tisdall, Textile Conservation Display Specialist in introducing the history, function and symbolism of these stunning court dress as well as the process and decision making when mounting them for display.
