Join Vernon Rapley, Director of Cultural Heritage Protection and Security, and Laura Searson, Heritage Preservation Lead, for this Members-only talk about how, and why, the V&A is committed to protecting the world's cultural heritage. They will describe the terrible loss that communities feel when their cultural heritage is threatened or lost and the contrasting positive role its preservation can have in rebuilding and recovering from war or disaster.

For the last six years, the Culture in Crisis team has been supporting communities that suffer cultural loss, whether through conflict, criminal acts, or the impacts of the climate crisis. The programme encourages a cross-disciplinary approach, raising public awareness and working with organisations from a variety of backgrounds to take a holistic approach to the protection of heritage in all its forms.

This talk will be held on Zoom, and ticket holders will receive a link to view live on the morning of the event. The talk will also be recorded, and available to view for ticketholders after the event.
