Bias Cut Drape

Inspired by original garments from the 1930’s and our Ocean Liners: Speed and Style exhibition, designer Juliana Sissons will show you how to design and cut individual patterns from draped starting points. This workshop will cover the methodology of shaping silhouettes around the body. You'll learn to enhance your creativity, create starting points for further development and develop a conceptual approach to pattern cutting. You'll create unique bias cut style patterns and sculpt them through drape, cut and modelling on the stand. As a result, you'll work towards creating an original design and prototype toile in traditional calico cotton and cream jersey.
