Drop-in Design: Build Build Build

Help design and build a mo-DEN-ist city! Take inspiration from things you might see every day, in your house, school or local area and build a den with the whole family. 

Led by RIBA Learning and architectural designer Jahba Anan, get stuck into this hands-on making workshop and build spaces in the garden. Using game cards, the whole family is invited to think about the design of the den. Work with your family to create spaces using unexpected materials such as fabric, string and recycled newspaper.  Explore and reuse the dens from other families, as the city grows over time 

Get inspired by architecture around the world, the Topical Modernism exhibition and the everyday spaces you love to be in, to create your dens.

All materials will be provided, all sourced sustainably. 

No previous experience is necessary. 

This is a families event for adults to take part in with their children; no child can be left unattended. Suitable for ages 5+. 

This event is part of the ‘Summer of Making’. Celebrate the Tropical Modernism exhibition through a month of families workshops celebrating architecture through hands-on making activities!
