In celebration of International Women’s Day, this lecture will introduce the key themes and participating international artists from the exhibition ‘Acts of Resistance: Photography, Feminisms and the Art of Protest’, a co-curated partnership between the V&A and South London Gallery, as part of the V&A’s Parasol Foundation Women in Photography project. ‘Acts of Resistance’ opens at the South London Gallery on 8th March 2024 and brings together works by over 17 international artists and collectives who are using the camera to challenge and move beyond traditional modes of protest photography.
This lecture will be led by exhibition curators Fiona Rogers, V&A Parasol Foundation Curator of Women in Photography and Sarah Allen, Head of Programme, South London Gallery.
