Summer School: Wood Engraving Workshop

The display 'Into The Woods: Trees In Illustration' will act as an inspiration through which students will be able to appreciate the finesse, dramatic power and textural richness of this art form. During the course participants will learn how to engrave their own design onto wood and take prints from it. A series of demonstrations followed by practical work will reveal the process during which tools, wood, paper and the skills required to engrave and print will be looked at closely. All materials provided, suitable for beginners although some drawing skills needed.
