The beginning of a quartet of novels spanning three hundred years of history and travelling the globe, the story starts in South Africa where Huguenot refugees were part of the beginning of viticulture in the Cape. Using V&A collections, the discussion will illustrate the author’s brilliant evocation of place, from 16th century Languedoc to Paris, from 17th century Amsterdam to 19th century Franschhoek.
This talk will be held on Zoom, and all ticket holders will receive a link to view the morning of the event.
