Bookbinding with Kate Holland

Taking inspiration from some of the stunning bindings in the National Art Library, artist and bookbinder Kate Holland will take you through the steps to create your very own hand-bound sketchbook. Over two days, Kate will show you the fundamental skills of this traditional craft, and you will learn many techniques that form the bedrock of Western bookbinding, including folding and sewing pages, adding endpapers, making a hard cover and casing in to create your finished book to take away.  You will also have the opportunity to make your own  decorative paste paper to use on your book cover. 

All materials provided, this workshop is suitable for complete beginners, as well as those looking to refresh their knowledge. Open to participants aged 18 and above.
