As a North Kensington resident with an interest in the creative industries, you will be introduced to the headline exhibition NAOMI in Fashion with a special opening presentation by Senior Curator Sonnet Stanfill who will discuss the model’s iconic 40-year career. Access to the NAOMI in Fashion exhibition is included in your ticket.
You will also have a choice of tours across the museum led by our amazing African Heritage Guides, to view the Inspiration Africa and the Historical and Hidden Caribbean tours respectively. Enjoy a choice of hands-on practical workshops inspired by the NAOMI in Fashion exhibition, including recycled aluminium jewellery and designs to restyle preloved clothing. A key element of the day will be the Designer Advice Market, your chance to meet with North Kensington designers.
This event is open to adults from all backgrounds living in the North Kensington area interested in fashion, style, and craft-making. It is your chance to embrace the museum as a local resource centre for new ideas, an opportunity to explore broader themes of inspiration, including possible creative pathways, and gain support in facing and overcoming the challenges of a career in the creative industries.
