Seeking Shakespeare: A tour inspired by the First Folio photo

The first printed edition of Shakespeare’s collected plays was published in 1623, seven years after the death of its author. Without the folio, possibly half of Shakespeare’s plays - including Macbeth, Julius Caesar, and Twelfth Night - could have been lost to history. To mark this 400th anniversary year and Shakespeare’s supposed day of birth and death (23rd of April), this special tour will highlight the impact of the book through the objects in the Theatre and Performance Galleries.

This tour will take place at 11:00 and 13:00, and will depart from the Meeting Point in the Grand Entrance. Space limited to 20.
