Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains
Classic Guitar Albums are hour-long focus sessions for guitar players and music enthusiasts to look at ground-breaking guitar albums that have changed the way with think about music.
As part of the Pink Floyd Weekender, we are delighted to run three Classic Guitar Album sessions. £10 per session or £25 for all three:
1230 – 13.30 Dark Side of the Moon
14.30 – 15.30 Wish You Were Here
16.00 – 17.00 The Wall
In each session we will look at the song writing used in the album, breakdown the chord patterns and looking at the sonic lead lines and melodies. We will dig deep into the playing style of David Gilmour, how it changed from album to album and how he became a master of commanding guitar tones.
We’ll also discuss the guitar player in question, how they could have approached things in a different way, how they created a ‘signature’ tone and how what they recorded or the way they play changed the world of guitar playing. We’ll look at what led to this album and the further impact it had on guitar playing and the musical landscape that followed.
These sessions are designed for guitar player and music enthusiasts of all abilities. To get the most out of the session please bring a guitar if possible (although this is not essential).
