Lebanese-based designer and artist Pascal Hachem explores his design practise and the cultural rituals of his homeland through this everyday food item. The artist will look at the Lebanese flatbread as a design object, reflecting on its form, origin, composition, sensory appeal and cultural significance.
Through the idea of bread as a communal object, he will also use this subject as a means of sharing insights into his other works that use food as a concept. Hachem’s work is inspired by everyday life and common objects, which he uses in new ways to challenge the viewer’s perspective.
