Join the curators of ‘Makers of Modern Gothic’, Angus Patterson and Max Donnelly for a look into the new acquisitions of Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin's drawings and the stories behind these works. The display showcases Pugin’s collaborations with the metalworking firm John Hardman & Co. and master builder George Myers and shows how Pugin’s visionary Gothic Revival designs, including works for the New Palace of Westminster and the Great Exhibition, came to life through these key partnerships. The curators will discuss Pugin’s creative process, highlighting the integral roles played by Hardman and Myers in shaping the modern Gothic style, while presenting his designs for metalwork, woodwork, textiles, and stained-glass projects.
This talk will be held on Zoom. Ticket holders will receive the link to view the talk live on the morning of the event. A recording of this talk will also be made available for all ticketholders after the event.
