Upstart is a festival for young people who are interested in creative careers. This year's theme is ‘Future Thinking’. We invite Young Designers 11-14 to The Shed to imagine and design what a creative career could be as technology progresses in the future.

Working alongside comic designer Sonia Leong you will discover what kind of creative you are and explore what life could look like in 2040. Learning how to create Chibi characters and Robots so you can visualise your creative future. The characters will be printed with the expertise of 'Goose Studio' using a Riso and exhibited in The Shed for the day.

Activities will include:
• What type of creative are you quiz, hosted by Mused - the V&A's website for young people.
• Imagining life in 2040 with a collective drawing.
• Creating chibi characters and robots.
• Making Riso prints to exhibit in the shed and take home.

This event, held in The Shed at Young V&A, will give 11-14 year olds the opportunity to try out a range of new skills linked to manga inspired by the robotics found in Japan: Myths to Manga exhibition. Each participant must be accompanied to the museum and The Shed by an adult.
