Playfully focused on museum objects, this EYFS session helps children develop communication and cognitive skills, supporting them to share their ideas and gain creative confidence. Inspired by the ‘Sound it out’ alphabetical display in the Play gallery, this session supports children to practice their communication and language skills. Led by a museum learning facilitator, children will also get the chance to learn about the museum, interact with museum handling objects and use their creativity to take part in playful making activities.
Key curriculum links: Expressive Arts & Design, Communication & Language, Literacy. Each session can accommodate 1 class (maximum 30 students).
We have multiple dates and timeslots to choose from. Each session is 45 min long. You’re also welcome to explore the museum on a self-guided visit before or after your workshop.
As part of your booking, we will reserve a 30-minute lunch slot in our Portal Trust Community Room for your group. You will receive an automated booking confirmation. If the information received is incorrect, please contact young@vam.ac.uk.
