Join fashion and textile designer Sadie Williams for a creative workshop inspired by the DIVA exhibition and Sadie’s Banner projects. Explore creating badges that express the things that are most important to you, then make a textile art 'patch' about what you're most passionate about. Experiment with fabrics, textures and colours to discover ways of expressing yourself.
Take your badge with you and wear it with pride as you explore the V&A collection or the DIVA exhibition.

Your patches will be pinned to a diva banner that will hang at the V&A for the day. The diva banner will share ideas about what families care about. At the end of the day, pick up your patch to take it home or collect it at another date from our Learning Centre desk.

You’ll find out how you can create new things from left-over fabrics and get to meet a professional artist. You'll come away with your own badges and patchwork art piece to take home with you!
Please click on 'download brochure' on the right-hand side if you'd like to find out more about Sadie Williams.

All materials will be provided, including a wide range of fabrics, all sourced sustainably. No previous sewing experience is necessary, this workshop will explore simple ways to work with textiles, including gluing, stapling and stitching materials together.

The 10:30 workshop is recommended for ages 5-7; 13:00 is recommended for ages 8-10 and 15:00 is recommended for 11-13.

Tickets are £12 minimum for one adult and child pair. You can add extra adult or child tickets to this booking. Please book one £6 ticket for each child and for each additional adult attending.
