Join us for an exclusive evening led by the curators of the Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto exhibition and NAL curator Catherine Yvard. Gabrielle Chanel was a bibliophile with an impressive personal library who counted prominent writers, poets and artists such as Pierre Reverdy, Jean Cocteau and Picasso amongst her friends.

This special evening event will offer Members an opportunity to delve into the life and work of Gabrielle Chanel and her circle, spotlighting treasures from the National Art Library Collection - some of which also appeared in Chanel’s own library – that highlight Chanel’s literary connections. Join V&A curators to examine Chanel’s life and career through the prism of books, magazine editorials and fashion photography, spanning the 20th century.

The evening will commence and conclude with a drinks reception in the Members' Room.
