Capturing Christmas in Print - Tour 2 photo

See the very first Christmas card, commissioned by the Museum's first director, Sir Henry Cole, explore Liberty catalogues of 'yule-tide gifts' from the 1890s and 1930s and see interpretations of Dickens' Christmas works, ranging from their Victorian beginnings to the 20th and 21st centuries. Above all, let the opulent Victorian interior of the NAL transport you back to a time when the Christmas holidays, as we know them today, became part of the national consciousness.
