Teachers and students will join designer-artist Rafin Jannat in this live make-along hosted on Zoom. Learn about the stunning work of artists, designers and craftspeople from Central Asia that features in
The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture and Opulence exhibition. Be inspired to create your own works on paper or fabric using pigments and paints you can find and make from ingredients in your classroom or home.
For this session, teachers will need to prepare the following materials per student in advance:
1 standard watercolour set (min 6 colours) per student ideally or small group of students to share
1 soft paintbrush per student
1 water pot to for each student or for a small group of students to share
2 sheets per student of white or light watercolour paper or card for testing and experimenting
2 bags of black/English Breakfast tea bags per student
2 tablespoons of instant coffee per student
The artist’s design worksheet (will be shared with booked schools for printing before the make-along)

Please note, the quantities given above are per student - please multiply up according to your group size. Suggestion – why not set a class or home learning activity to collect ingredients that could be used for making pigment?
