No, you don’t need a ticket for Taylor Swift | Songbook Trail.

Accessibility / Step-free route

The Songbook Trail route has been designed to be as efficient as possible for step-free visitors. As a historic building with over 7 miles of galleries, navigating the V&A step-free can sometimes be challenging, with long distances between lifts. We recommend bringing water and staff will be happy to help direct you to nearby seating, facilities and refreshments along your route. All stops on the Songbook trail are accessible except for Stop 1 (Lover) and Stop 5 (Fearless) which are viewable from a distance.

We have dedicated onsite wayfinding that highlights our step-free route, and our digital map has also been updated to include the Songbook Trail stops. We are unable to provide a printable map specifically for the trail, but please do speak to a member of our team if you have any questions. There is a member of staff at each of the stops on the trail to help.

The label text for each stop is available in a digital format on our trail wayfinding page.

Four of the Songbook Trail stops are on our ground floor and do not require lift access.

We work hard to maintain our lifts so they are safe for visitors.

Occasionally, one may need to be taken out of service while we work quickly to resolve an issue. If we need to take a lift out of service for any reason, please speak to a member of staff who will be able to help you access alternative stops on the trail.

Why is part of Taylor Swift | Songbook Trail closed on 16th August?

Fashion In Motion is a regular V&A event which will be taking place in the Raphael Gallery on that day, featuring Orange Culture. The Raphael Gallery will be closed to the public for that event.

Will Taylor Swift | Songbook Trail be very busy?

We are anticipating high visitor numbers in the museum during the trail and will be doing everything we can to make sure all our visitors have an enjoyable time.

We may have a queueing system in place at very busy times.

I have a ticket for one of the other exhibitions on at V&A South Kensington. Will I still need to queue?

We will be prioritising entry for V&A members and visitors with pre-booked timed tickets for Tropical Modernism, Fragile Beauty or Naomi at V&A South Kensington or with tickets to any of the events.

Exhibition ticket holders will be able to enter the museum at their allotted time slot.

We are delighted to be able to display a range of iconic looks worn by Taylor Swift at the V&A this summer, each celebrating a chapter in the artist’s musical journey. Taylor Swift’s songs, like objects, tell stories, often drawing from art, history and literature. We hope this theatrical trail across the museum will inspire curious visitors to discover more about the performer, her creativity and V&A objects.
