The delicate design on this tea towel, featuring intertwined honeysuckle foliage and flowers, is adapted from a wallpaper pattern created by Mary Elizabeth Morris for Morris & Co. in 1883, held in the V&A archive.
William Morris's younger daughter, known as May, was a talented embroiderer and designer, creating many patterns for her father's company.
