Valentines day – aka Galentine’s day – is here and it’s time to celebrate friendships in a big way! We love our friends and enjoy hanging out with them, but now’s the time to mark the occasion and really honour those special bonds! Here’s some ideas on how you could commemorate your mates…
Have a pyjama party!

There’s nothing better than getting in your PJ’s straight after school and getting super cosy – so why not turn this guilty pleasure into an event? Invite your friends or family over for a sleepover and tell them to wear their best PJs, dressing gowns and cosy socks! Now you’re all super comfy, you could play some games, do a pamper session, watch a movie or just stay up late and chat! Don’t forget your midnight snack – we won’t tell!
Bake off!

If baking has your heart then it’s time to make it competitive! Why not have a bake off this galentine’s day? You and your crew could each bake something for the evening and then taste and rate them – with the winner getting to go home with the leftovers! It could be a super fun way to have some yummy treats for the evening and show off and share your skills. Ready, set, bake!
Movie or games night

Sometimes, nothing beats kicking back with your favourite film. But now there’s an excuse to make it special! Why not get together with friends or family and host a movie marathon? (We recommend the Harry Potter films!) If you’d prefer something a bit more interactive you could have a games night – either go old school and play some board games – or go full console style! It’s sure to be a brilliant evening!
Karaoke

Move over, Dua Lipa, the gals are in town! Time to show off your vocal skills with a karaoke night. Even if singing isn’t your strongest suit, then karaoke can be very silly and fun! You don’t need any special tech to make this work, just some lyrics videos of your favourite songs. Take it in turns to go up and perform, or even do a group number together!
Build a den!

Want to know a way to make any sleepover, movie night or galentine’s party better? Build a den! Yes, we’re serious. It’s super easy, but a really fun way to take your cosy night to the next level. Gather some cushions, pillows, sheets and if you have them – fairy lights. Ask a parent or guardian to help you bring two dining chairs to hold the roof either side of the den and make a little fort out of blankets and sheets. If you fancy decorating it further you can put up fairy lights or evening make bunting. Now tuck in and enjoy!
