Winter Design Workshop: Pajaki Making
Saturday 9 November 2024
Join artist Natalia Manczak to create a traditional Polish pajaki
In this full day workshop Natalia will guide you through the process of creating a pajaki structure, which you will then decorate with five traditional “kalinka” pom-poms.
The pajaki (pronounced pah-yonk-ee) is a traditional Polish chandelier crafted from rye straw and paper, with roots tracing back to the mid-18th century. Originally made by rural women to decorate their homes for Christmas, Easter, weddings, and christenings, the eco-friendly pajaki symbolizes harvest and New Year's happiness.
Suitable for all skill levels. All materials provided. The ticket price for this full day workshop includes lunch of a delicious deli-filled roll and a delightful sweet treat.
