Refugee Festival Scotland: Turkman Tales

Sunday 16 June and Friday 21 June

Journey into the heart of traditional Afghan jewellery craftsmanship

Join talented jewellery makers, the Turkman family, to immerse yourself in the intricate techniques that have been passed down through generations as you create your own unique pieces.

In this practical workshop you will learn some of the secrets of Afghan jewellery making, from detailed metalwork to vibrant beadwork, and find out more about the northwestern region of Afghanistan, known for its archaeological heritage.

No experience necessary, whether you are a beginner or an experienced artisan, our skilled instructors will guide you every step of the way.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to create memories as timeless as the jewellery itself!

A display of objects related to the workshop will be on display from 16 June –  22 June.

This event is part of Refugee Festival Scotland, visit their website for the full event programme.
