About the model

Drag performer, academic, alien deity, and idealist – Cheddar Gorgeous is a sensation. Born of Manchester's underground queer club culture and activist roots to star of Channel 4’s Drag SOS and BBC’s RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, Cheddar Gorgeous (aka Dr Michael Atkins) is one the nation’s most beloved drag performers.

About the teacher

Scotland-based fashion illustrator Katie Braid has over a decade’s experience producing illustration and creative work for brand and clients such as RIXO, Ashley Williams, Charles Jeffrey, Harrods Beauty, Rolls Royce, Celine, and one of Scotland's oldest artisan tartan mill. Katie is also a visiting Fashion Illustration tutor for the School of Fashion at Edinburgh College of Art.

About the designer

Scottish designer Owen Edward Snaith’s work explores both his family's Scottish east coast fishing heritage and his experiences growing up queer in a small community. Flamboyant yet masculine silhouettes are often contrasted with humorous colour schemes and intelligently chaotic surfaces to create personal, political, and poignant garments. Snaith’s Great Fishwife couture kilt ensemble, which features in our Tartan exhibition, is a radical reworking of a traditional féileadh-mór, and was created as part of their 2022 graduate collection at the University of Westminster.
