Join designer Chloe Patience to create a unique embellished motif inspired by our current exhibitions. Embroidered motifs are a fantastic way to revive clothing and embellishments like these can be reused for years to come.
In this live 4-week online course, you will learn hand embroidery skills and a range of traditional and contemporary couture embroidery techniques and apply these to create your own design.
Each weekly session will feature a combination of presentations and pre-recorded demonstrations, followed by a practical assignment to prepare for the next class. You will be able to ask questions and get expert guidance and feedback on how to develop and improve your work.
Suitable for beginners, as well as those with some experience who are looking to develop further.

To take part in the course you will need:
✂️ Embroidery hoop - recommended size 6 inches
✂️ Crewel embroidery and beading needles
✂️ Fabric: 1 metre of calico (light / mid weight)
✂️ Sharp embroidery scissors
✂️ A range of embroidery threads and beads
✂️ Paper and pen for note-taking
